SINISTER DAYS is Nantes hardcore at its most abrasive: leaden riffs, bone-crushing breakdowns and unfiltered social rage. After SERVE/DESTROY (2021), an anti-capitalist firebomb, the band stepped up with DISCONNECT SOCIETY (2025), a brutal diagnosis of a world under watch: digital alienation, a sacrificed generation, collapse foretold. Road-tested alongside First Blood, Kruelty and L'Esprit du Clan, the four-piece turns every set into collective catharsis.

Formed in Nantes in 2013, SINISTER DAYS plays heavy, uncompromising metallic hardcore: pit-ready rhythms, beatdown pummeling, punk outbursts and black metal textures. On the mic, death growls, screams and hardcore shouts trade blows — an extreme vocabulary serving an equally extreme message.

The band broke through in 2021 with SERVE/DESTROY, a six-track EP hailed by the French metal press for its "pure energy" (Objectif Metal): a head-on charge against consumer society and its lies. In 2025, DISCONNECT SOCIETY sharpened the blade and widened the scope — mass surveillance, screen addiction, the distress of a generation left behind. Less a protest record than a verdict, chanted like a mantra: "We're already dead".

Live, SINISTER DAYS has shared stages with First Blood, Kruelty, L'Esprit du Clan, Alea Jacta Est, In Other Climes, Stinky and Dying Hope. Dense, physical shows — the format where the band hits hardest.

From the Nantes underground to prophets of the collapse.

SINISTER DAYS was born in 2013 in the Nantes underground and grew up away from the spotlight, in that grey zone where bands are forged through rehearsals, basements and opening slots. In 2020, a decisive line-up overhaul injected the fresh blood that locked in the band's identity for good: massive metallic hardcore, fed on beatdown, shot through with punk outbursts and black metal textures, fronted by chameleon vocals shifting from death growls to hardcore screams, laced with proudly old-school effects.

That identity detonated in 2021 with SERVE/DESTROY, a self-released six-track debut EP with its agenda stated up front: "FAST FOOD NATION" goes after corporate globalization and the true cost of consumer comfort, "I CAN HAVE EVERYTHING" dissects the psychological warfare of advertising, "ON A SPIKE" dismisses the electoral circus, while "HARVEST" turns misanthropy on a humanity described as "the cancer of Nature". The specialized press immediately praised this fusion of death, black and punk cast into overpowering hardcore — and a band that had already found its voice.

2023 brought a mutation: the departure of a founding member pushed the band into darker, heavier territory still. That period gave birth to the vision that shapes everything since.

DISCONNECT SOCIETY (2025) delivers on it. Where the first EP called for flipping the table, the second surveys the damage: "CLOUDS" paints the depression of a generation mourning a life spent working, "NO CARE FOR US" gives voice to the anger of a sacrificed class, "SHOT" tackles head-on the taboo of male suicide and the codes of manhood that enforce silence, while the title track exposes a daily life turned digital panopticon, where security justifies surrendering all privacy. "THE DARKEST ORDER" closes the picture, probing cult mechanics and spiritual corruption. The message has gained depth without losing an ounce of violence.

Musically, SINISTER DAYS claims the lineage of TRAP THEM, INTEGRITY and PULLING TEETH, digested into a language of its own: mantras hammered like slogans ("Break these chains"), bulldozer grooves, tension that never lets go.

That intensity makes full sense on stage. The band has shared bills with First Blood (Pure Noise Records), Kruelty (Profound Lore Records), L'Esprit du Clan (La Casta / Galy Records), Alea Jacta Est (Useless Pride Records), In Other Climes (Dead Serious Records), Stinky (Finisterian Dead End) and Dying Hope, and every show plays out like a collective exorcism: one pit, four musicians, one verdict screamed together — the world is burning, might as well dance on the ashes.

In 2026, SINISTER DAYS moves forward with a tight line-up — Josselin "Joss" Viot (drums, gang vocals), Jered Teague (bass), Guillaume Gandon (vocals), Vincent "Vince" Rob (guitar) — and one certainty: extreme music has never had more reasons to exist.
